June Update

With summer in full swing I hope you're all gearing up for the holidays. I've spoken about this on my Instagram reels as well as directly to mentees; your well-being is an absolute non negotiable when it comes to building a healthy routine and lifestyle.

Building a successful career doesn't happen overnight, nor does landing your first job or your dream job. Therefore a strategy must be in place, one which works for you and your lifestyle/ family situation, with this set up you can build into that your personal fitness and mental health goals. Ensuring that the career building efforts are long term and sustainable, it should be something which you look forward to and something which delivers a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment to your life.

We've seen an increase in the number of mentees from here in the UK and from various counties around the world in June. This gives me a better understanding of the challenges that people face across various demographics and how to tailor the mentorship plans to those very personal and individual needs.

With that in mind I'd say don't ever compare yourself or your journey to that of someone else. It's far too easy to mindlessly scroll on social media and see amazing sketches and design work from other people, if one's not careful you could find yourself feeling worse and worse as you continue to scroll.

Ultimately your journey is unique to you run your own race as It's more important that you focus on yourself than on other peoples journey. Are you maximising efforts daily? Are you doing everything you can to get one step closer to your goals? Did you work on yourself today? Are you leveraging your network? Are you capitalising on your skillset?

Keep pushing yourself to be better in a sustainable and healthy manner. Downtime is just as important as your operability and uptime. Spend time with people you love being around and get away from screens, open your mind to new sources of inspiration in the real world away from midjourney and Pinterest!
